I set up MRG Private Clients to offer something straightforward: clear advice, properly explained, without pressure.
Too often, mortgage conversations feel rushed or overly transactional. Clients are presented with options, but not always with the context needed to make confident decisions.
My approach is different. I take the time to understand your situation fully, explain the options in plain terms, and structure advice around what makes sense for you, both now and long term.
I’m Matt Gibbs, founder of MRG Private Clients.
With over a decade of experience in mortgage and property finance, I’ve supported clients across residential, buy-to-let and more complex borrowing scenarios.
During that time, I’ve worked in a range of environments, from estate agency and high street banking through to city-based brokerage. Each setting offered a different perspective. Some prioritised speed, others volume, others structure.
Those experiences helped shape the way I work today — independent, measured and focused on long-term suitability rather than short-term transactions.
Experience matters, but how it’s applied matters more.
Every case begins with understanding the detail. Income structure, longer-term plans, risk appetite, and what success actually looks like for you. From there, I research the market thoroughly and explain the options clearly, including the trade-offs.
You won’t be rushed into a decision or presented with unnecessary jargon. And you won’t be pushed toward a lender that doesn’t make sense for your situation.
A mortgage is rarely just a financial product. It is often tied to major life decisions and long-term plans. My role is to remove uncertainty and help you move forward with clarity.
